What is your favorite workout video/DVD???

Hi everyone! I’m thinking about going out and buying some new workout DVDs and was wondering what everyone’s fave dvd or video is?? I need everyone’s input and opinions…why they like their favorite, what is the name of it, and what type of workouts are included in them. Any extra information about them would be greatly appreciated. I guess this is my own version of “shopping around” for a new workout. I hope everyone is having a great week!!!

My Weekend & a Question

This weekend went pretty good! My boyfriend likes to eat out alot on the weekends and I was worried about what I could eat if I went with him so I got online and printed out all the nutrition info from all the places that we might eat. After I printed them, I looked through each one and picked good choices and added my calories and fat grams. It made it so much easier when I was actually in the restaurants. I made good choices!! I’ve really been getting into keeping my food journal this weekend. I write down what time I eat, what I actually eat, and how I feel during that time. It seems to really help! Also, on the front of my journal it has a pocket that I use to keep all the nutrition info so I can always have that handy to help! Tomorrow starts a new week of exercise! I’ve been reading where alot of you do the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD. If anyone has any info about where to buy that and the price please let me know. Tell me what you think about it too because I’m very curious about it. On a side note, I’ve posted a question in the forums about weight graphs and how to put one on the side of my blog (I think I posted it under blog technical FAQ). I’ve tried and tried to figure it out and I can’t seem to get one so if anyone could help me that would be so great! Hope everyone has had a great & positive weekend and let’s all have a great week too!!

today was good…yesterday not so much!!

Okay so yesterday I did pretty good all day long with eating and then my friends called and wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings and hang out.  I had already ate dinner so I was just going to go and order something to drink and maybe munch on the celery.  Unfortunately I ended up ordering a beer.   The girls and I really got to talking and I ended up having 3 TALL beer!!! I’m so mad at myself for that!! And then the worse part was afterwards another one of our friends called and wanted us to ride along with her while she told us about her guy problems and she needed us for support.  So she picks us up from wild wings and she says that she wants to grab a bite to eat at Sonic.  Instead of me not eating anything because I had already had dinner PLUS the extra calories in beer I end up ordering cheesy tots, and a chicken strip sandwich! (I later looked it up online and the amount of fat and calories in that and it was awful)  I’m so ashamed of myself and disappointed in myself!!  Today was different though.  I was determined to make up for yesterday so I did good all day and even did my workouts! I had to cook dinner tonight for the family and I made a casserole that I thought was kind of lowfat but after I made it..I added up all the fat grams and calories and it ended up being way too fattening for me.  I’m proud of myself though because even though it was one of my fave casseroles I didn’t eat it and ate healthy instead!  Tomorrow I hope to go running and I’m going to attempt to try and do the eating every 3 hours, very small meals thing!  I find that hard because I will go 3 hours and not think to eat.  I have to set the timer on the microwave just so I will think to eat every 3 hours.  Well that’s all for now I just needed to vent about how upset I was for Wednesday night’s drinkfest!  I’m going to try VERY hard to never do that again because I felt horrible!

Catching up on me…

I got up early to go running this morning only to find out that it is raining!! How frustrating that is!!  Hopefully it will stop soon and I will go while it is still cool outside.  This week is going great so far especially with eating.  I’ve really been getting into egg whites (they are surprisingly filling) and I couldn’t do this whole healthy eating thing if I didn’t have my fat free cottage cheese.  I love that stuff!  I’ve been drinking alot more water the last couple of days and only had one diet soda yesterday so I hope I can keep that up.  My boyfriend is being really supportive but sometimes he slips up and asks me if I want to go and get a pizza or chinese or something.  I caved in on the pizza this weekend but after that I told him he was on his own if he wanted to eat that stuff.  He’s trying though so I can’t be upset with him.  I’m hoping he will start jogging with me (or at least walking with me)   Today at some point I’m going to weigh myself for the first time since I’ve been on this site.  I know I’ve lost a few pounds so I’m pretty excited about it showing up on my weight tracker!!  Well I think the rain has stopped now so I’m going to try and go running.  Hope that everyone is having a great week!

Diet Sodas

Something that I noticed today (and was surprised about) was while I took a drink of my diet mountain dew it actually tasted like a regular soda.  I quit drinking regular sodas last week and at first had a very hard time adjusting to diet ones instead.  But today was great when I realized I could no longer tell the difference.  I am so glad because now I feel like if I have a craving for something sweet I can reach for a few sips of my diet mountain dew and it will help fight those cravings!!  From here on out water throughout the day and diet mountain dew for dessert (if needed)

On a side note…..I wanted to say thank you to those that added me as a buddy since I am new to this site.  I hope this is the start of a great supportive friendship with you all :)

Day ONE

Well, Day One has officially began for turning around my habits in life.  I have already started with small changes…such as I have quit drinking regular sodas this past week and drink more water.  I took some pictures with friends this weekend and noticed how badly my arms need to tone up and lose the excess weight on them.  (If anyone has any tips for that please send them my way)  I don’t feel very energetic today…I’m about to go and drink my morning coffee (fat free creamer with splenda)  I have gotten really into FitTV’s Shimmy workouts.  I will probably work out to an episode of that today and I have to do my hour regular workout at some point in time today as well….let’s just see what happens……..
